This site is run by two parent caters, Alison Davis and Anna Jenkins. We each have a deaf son and we both sit as parent representatives at the city’s CHSWG and PaCC panels. CHSWG stands for Children’s Hearing Services Working Group and it is where professionals from audiology, paediatrics, social care, speech therapy and the sensory needs service meet once a term to discuss any developments in the care and services offered to our children in Brighton and Hove and to work together to improve that provision.
More recently we have taken on a job-share role, sitting as parent reps on the PaCC (Parent and Carer’s Council) steering group. This panel meets regularly to discuss the provision of care to all SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) children across the city and then formulate PaCC policies that are used when necessary to urge change in policy from health, social and education authorities. PaCC’s voice is respected and sought out by professionals who make decisions about the services our children receive.
We are very keen to take any concerns that you may have about health, education and council run services to these meetings and to try and ensure that those concerns are taken on board.
